Snow chains
Snow chains are specially designed for driving a vehicle through snow and on slippery roads. Mainly in mountainous areas or in extraordinary situations, where snow tyres are not sufficient. Snow chains are made of metal links that ensure the tyre has more grip on snowy surfaces. Car chains are supplied in sets, so 2 chains that you then apply around the two drive wheels of your vehicle.
With new cars, it is sometimes impossible to use traditional snow chains because of the limited space behind the tyre. That is why there are also alternatives such as snow chains mounted on the wheel bolts or snow socks.
