You can use this testing tool to find out the wear of the timing belt. In some vehicles, the timing belt runs in an oil bath. The structure of the timing belt can change due to aging or lack of additives. Checking this is not a problem with this gauge. This determines the width of the timing belt by the maximum dimension allowed by the manufacturer. If the belt is wider, it must be replaced.
